How We Approach a Dispute
Litigation is expensive, and its costs are measured in more than legal fees. It takes time and attention from the people who run the company. Before we recommend filing suit or answering one, we give the client our honest assessment of the claim, the likely cost of pursuing or defending it, and the realistic range of outcomes.
Many disputes settle, and a well-prepared case settles on better terms. We prepare every matter as if it will be tried. When trial is the right course, we try the case, and we handle the appeal if there is one.
Because we regularly represent plaintiffs as well as defendants, we understand how the opposing side is likely to value and litigate a case, and we use that experience in advising our clients.
